Lake Lure Green Space

"This is a beautiful green space with both paved and dirt trails. Dogs are allowed if they are on a leash. There are benches and picnic tables scattered along the trail. I do a loop that’s about 7,000-8,000 steps but shorter or longer options are available. Since the Rainbow Bridge was destroyed by Helene, they built a new Rainbow Bridge."

"Repurposed golf course is an excellent place to take a walk. Dogs allowed on leash. My only complaint is that there are people breaking this rule. That makes things unsafe for everyone and for wildlife. Also, not everyone avails themselves of the provided poop bags to clean up after their dogs. It was so nice to have 2-3 miles of paved golf cart road to get some exercise on a rare warm winter day. No restrooms. Easy access from the Dittmer-Watts Nature Trail, which is how I accessed the green space."
